RDT TRYOUT FAQ's:
Do I Need To Be At Both Days Of The Tryout?
Yes, dancers who wish to tryout for the team must attend both days of tryouts.  During the tryout you will learn new dance skills, learn a routine and everything else you need to know about joining RDT.  If you are in a fall sport, or have a conflict with one or more of the dates/times - You can still join us!  Please e-mail us to discuss details! Who Can Join The Dance Team?
Any student who is in 7th-12th grade during the 2021-2022 school year and attends Parkview, RAMS or RAHS can tryout for RDT.  It is open to boys and girls - no dance experience necessary.  

What Should I Wear And Bring To Tryouts?
Dancers should bring jazz shoes and tennis shoes to tryouts.  If you do not have jazz shoes, wearing tennis shoes works perfectly.  Dancers should wear their hair pulled back, and off of their face in a bun or ponytail.  Dancers should wear active wear, that is form fitting.  Dancers should bring a water bottle, questions they have about the team and a good attitude!  On Tuesday, we will ask dancers to wear all black.

When Will I Find Out If I Make The Team?
Results will be posted by 9pm on Tuesday night.  Each dancer will be given a tryout number on Monday, and results will be posted by number on Tuesday.  This will be emailed and posted on our social media.

Dancers who make the team are expected to attend practice the remainder of the week:
Wednesday 10/27 3:30-6pm - RAHS Upper Gym
Thursday 10/28 3:30-6pm - RAHS Upper Gym
Friday 10/29 3:30-6pm - RAHS Upper Gym
Saturday 10/30 8am-4pm - RAMS Old Main Gym

There is also a mandatory parent/dancer meeting that each dancer and at least 1 parent/guardian must attend:
VETERAN DANCERS (on the winter team before) - Friday 10/29 5:30-6:30pm @ RAHS
NEW DANCERS (first time on the winter team) - Saturday 10/30 8-9:30am @ RAMS

What Is The Practice Schedule/Time Commitment Like To Be On RDT?
Our winter competitive team practices 3 days per week after school (3:30-6pm Mon, Wed, Thurs) and 2 days per week before school (6-7:30am Tuesdays & Fridays).  They also practice, attend competitions or team events on most Saturdays during the season. Dancers are required to give freely of their time to be on RDT.  This means scheduling work, appointments & other things around our schedule.  If you have a standing conflict such as studio dance, a club, or another activity you participate in - please reach out - we do all that we can to make it work so you can be on the team!  Those who make the team, will be given a full season calendar during the first week of practice.

How Much Does It Cost To Be On RDT?
Dancers will pay a fee to the school upon registering.  Please know this is a school fee.
Otherwise, dancers will pay $425 to participate on RDT.  $150 of this is due by Sat 10/30, and the remainder is due by 12/1/2021.  Payment plans are also available to those in need and who qualify.  This fee includes the following: team sweatshirt, team joggers, team shoes, team t-shirt, invitational t-shirt, kids camp t-shirt, journal, competition lipstick, competition eyelashes, competition eyeshadow, booster fee and more.  
Additional costs dancers will incur include:
-Jazz Shoes, Approx $38 per pair 
-Tights, Approx, $16 per pair
-Other Make-Up Supplies, Cost Varies - Items Include: Foundation, blush, bronzer, eyeliner, & mascara.  A list of chosen colors will be given to your dancer. All items can be purchased at CVS, Target, Walgreens or Walmart. This makeup will be worn all season. Dancers will be provided eyeshadow and lipstick as part of their team fee.
-Other Hair Supplies, Cost Varies - Items Include: Hair nets, hair binders, hair pins, brush, combo, hair spray, hair gel, etc.  All items can be purchased at CVS, Target, Walgreens or Walmart. These items will be used all season. 

We understand participating in a high school sport can be expensive.  Please know, if you are concerned about cost that first, your first year on the team is the most expensive, and second we have many options available to help with these costs (covering them or breaking them up).  If cost is a concern for you, but you want to join the team - please reach out to us to further discuss - rosevilledanceteam@gmail.com.  We have many options available so your dancer can still be a part of our team!
